- A screen reader may announce only “button.” The person using it may not know that the button opens search.
- Developer
- Add a short accessible name, such as “Search,” to the shared header button.

- Check the button in the browser’s accessibility tools or with a screen reader. The control should be announced as “Search button” on every page that uses the same header.

You own the report. You can send it to your current developer, web agency, internal team, or another provider you choose.
Free scanners find warnings. We turn the evidence into a plan.
Tools such as WAVE, axe, and Lighthouse are useful. Their raw results can be technical, repetitive, and limited to one page at a time.
Ontario Access Check reviews the evidence, removes unsupported or repeated items, groups problems that share one underlying cause, and puts the work in a useful order. Your developer receives clear instructions instead of an unexplained list of warnings.
A practical first step for Ontario organizations
Ontario Access Check is designed for businesses, non-profits, public-sector organizations, and web agencies that need a clear starting point for website accessibility work.
For Ontario businesses and non-profits, the public website requirement generally applies when the organization has 50 or more employees. Designated public-sector organizations are covered separately.
Ontario businesses and non-profits with 20 or more employees must also file an accessibility compliance report by December 31, 2026. The Fix Plan can help an organization identify website work. It does not complete the government report or certify that the entire website complies.
Need the same pages checked again later? Monthly monitoring may be offered after a paid Fix Plan. We recheck the same agreed pages and show which supported findings are new, fixed, recurring, or unchanged. Monitoring is not sold as a separate public product at launch.

What exactly do I receive?
You receive an accessible online Fix Plan and a PDF copy covering up to five agreed public pages. The report shows the supported problems we found, where they appear, why they matter, what your developer should change, and how to check that the work was completed correctly.
Which pages do you review?
We review up to five important public pages. A typical set may include the home page, contact page, a main service or program page, an application or Donate page, and another page with a different layout or public interaction. You may name one or two pages that matter most. We confirm the final page list before the review begins.
Is this only an automated scan?
No. We use automated tools and repeatable browser and keyboard checks to collect evidence. We then review the results, remove unsupported items, and group repeated problems before they appear in your report. The service does not include a complete manual audit or comprehensive testing with assistive technology.
Can my current developer use the report?
Yes. The report explains what to change and how to check the result. You own the Fix Plan and may give it to your current developer, internal team, web agency, or another provider.
Does the $249 include changing my website?
No. The $249 product is the review and Fix Plan. It does not include making changes to your website.
Is this a certificate or a complete accessibility audit?
No. The Fix Plan is a focused review of selected public pages. It is not a certificate, legal opinion, official conformance report, or promise that every accessibility problem has been found.
Does this complete our 2026 accessibility compliance report?
No. The government report is a separate filing. The Fix Plan can help your organization identify and plan website work, but it does not answer, submit, certify, or replace the filing.
We have fewer than 50 employees. Can we still use the service?
Yes. The service can still help identify barriers that make it harder for people to contact, apply, donate, book, buy, or use your website. We will not tell a private business or non-profit that Ontario’s public website rule applies when it does not. Designated public-sector organizations are covered separately.
Do you need our login or website password?
No. The launch service reviews public pages only. We do not need CMS access, passwords, or access to staff areas. We do not submit forms that create or change records.
What about PDFs, logged-in systems, and third-party widgets?
PDFs and logged-in systems are outside the launch scope. When a third-party widget appears on an agreed public page, we report only what the saved evidence supports. We also explain when the affected element appears to be controlled by an outside provider.
What if you find only a few problems?
We report only supported problems. We do not add weak findings or irrelevant pages to make the report look longer. If we cannot review enough of the agreed scope to produce a useful Fix Plan, we refund the payment.
What if a finding is wrong?
Tell us which material fact appears wrong. We review the saved evidence and issue one corrected version. If we cannot deliver a useful corrected Fix Plan, we refund the payment.
How long does it take?
We deliver within 48 hours after we confirm the pages to review and confirm that they are publicly reachable.
Is Ontario Access Check part of the government?
No. Ontario Access Check is an independent Ontario business. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Government of Ontario.
